Design and launch a customer and platform agnostic registration and sign-in flow. Allowing customers to be both passengers and drivers.
The login and account creation of an app is one of the most important to retain users. If it is too difficult, simply doesn’t work or is a long process people just simply give up because their first impression falls short.
Working with developers and product manager we developed a signup process that would create an account that allowed people to achieve many outcomes with GoCatch. With just one account customers can book rides, become a driver and gain access to portal information.
Through market research and user testing we developed an understanding which lead us to create a signup flow using mobile numbers to create accounts rather than the standard email/password format. This redefined what it meant to be a customer of GoCatch. It allowed taxi drivers to become rideshare drivers and for passengers to become drivers.
An account could now be created much faster and simpler than the previous flow, logging in was essentially automatic and hassle-free as customer’s.
The final solution also came with an overhaul of the user interface. I redesigned and updated all visual assets to align with the new brand identity. Incorporating white space and providing clear visual cues to direct the user through the signup was an important part of this process - taking it from a development lead flow into a user centric and visually appealing experience.
